Five kilometers from Ostuni, nestled within a sprawling olive grove, lies Casa Cupido. The villa sits quietly in the landscape of Puglia, with open views of the greenery and enough distance from the world to truly unwind. At the same time, the location remains deliberately connected: the old town of Ostuni is easily reached, as is the coast. It is precisely this balance that defines the place.

A house born from an idea

The house was completed in 2023 and has been open to guests since 2024. The project is the vision of Elisabeth Hanser, who spent a long time searching for a place that matched her idea of what it should be. As founder and managing director of the event agency MIND-SET , she is accustomed to finding and shaping exceptional venues. With Casa Cupido, however, the goal was not stagingbut rather a house that feels coherent in itself, in its location, its architecture, and the atmosphere it conveys.

The architecture draws on typical elements of the region without being constrained by them. Vaulted ceilings, pale stone surfaces, and a sheltered courtyard reference the building traditions of Puglia, while materials such as wood, carefully chosen textiles, and handcrafted details create a modern, understated aesthetic. Local ceramics and contemporary art provide accents that integrate naturally into the overall picture. Nothing feels accidental, yet everything remains unassuming.

Casa Cupido: Rooms, light, and fluid transitions

Inside, the house unfolds across generous, light-filled rooms. Transitions are designed to flow, with interior and exterior spaces merging seamlessly into one another. The living area is clearly structured, complemented by an elegant dining space and several retreats. Outside, the pergola, outdoor kitchen, and large dining table form a second living hub that comes into its own particularly in the evenings. The infinity pool sits slightly elevated and faces the landscape, so that the view opens unobstructed across the olive trees.

The entire villa is always booked as a whole, offering three bedrooms with en suite bathrooms for up to six guests. The concept is designed to make each stay as flexible as possible. Guests can have the property entirely to themselves or make use of individual services as needed, ranging from weekly housekeeping to daily concierge support, from a stocked refrigerator filled with regional products to individually arranged excursions into the surrounding area.

Service that adapts

The culinary experience can be extended as well. On request, a private chef comes to the house and prepares an Apulian dinner, complemented by a carefully curated wine selection. Additional offerings such as massages or transfers can be arranged with ease, without altering the character of the house. Service remains in the background and adapts to the rhythm of the guests.

The location between Ostuni and the Adriatic coast makes Casa Cupido an ideal base for exploring the region. At the same time, it quickly becomes apparent that the real appeal lies in staying put. The expanse of the olive grove, the quality of light throughout the day, and the clarity of the house's design create an atmosphere in which the pace of everyday life slows almost on its own.

A contemporary interpretation of Apulian building culture

Casa Cupido bridges the idea of a classic masseria with a contemporary interpretation. The result is not a staged venue but a house that impresses through its clarity and makes its mark through its setting, a retreat that does not impose itself but gradually reveals itself over time.
