(red) Good news for travelers: Starting in May 2025, there will be a direct flight connection between Naples Capodichino Airport (NAP) and Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) . American Airlines and airport operator GESAC have announced this exciting development, which will offer travelers up to two daily flights between Naples and the United States during the 2025 summer season. The new route follows the success of the Philadelphiaconnection, launched last summer, which has already attracted a loyal following.
Discovering Naples and the Amalfi Coast
"We are thrilled to offer our passengers from the United States even more opportunities to discover the beauty of Naples and the Amalfi Coast ," said José Freig, Vice President of International Operations at American Airlines. "The new route to Chicago strengthens our network in Europe and reflects our commitment to connecting travelers on both sides of the Atlantic even more effectively."

GESAC CEO Roberto Barbieri also sees great potential: "American Airlines continuing to invest in Naples Airport and now adding Chicago alongside Philadelphia demonstrates the strength of our region. Naples has established itself as an attractive destination for high-end tourism: travelers stay longer, spend more, and contribute to economic growth." Chicago, one of the most exciting cities in the United States, will become, starting next summer , one of five cities in North America reachable by direct flight from Naples.
Comfort at the highest level
The flight to Chicago will be operated with the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, offering comfort at the highest level: from fully lie-flat seats in Business Class to Premium Economy, along with state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment featuring live TV, high-speed Wi-Fi, and more than 1,500 movies and series. Chicago O'Hare is a major American Airlines hub, enabling seamless connections to more than 130 destinations across the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Mexico. A true upgrade for all those traveling to or from southern Italy!
