Lake Garda, Italy's largest lake, is a true paradise for water sports enthusiasts, sun seekers, and nature lovers. The 17 campgrounds of Lago di Garda Camping are all situated directly on the shore, making it easy to experience the lake's magic to the fullest. Whether stand-up paddling, kayaking, diving, or simply relaxing by the water, adventure begins right outside the tent or motorhome.

Lake Garda: Adventure on River and Lake

In the tranquil bays of Lake Garda kayak, SUP, or pedal boat tours can be enjoyed, always set against the impressive backdrop of mountains, Mediterranean vegetation, and picturesque villages. Those who prefer a more relaxed experience can rent an electric or motorboat, often without a boating license. Particularly well situated for such excursions is the spacious Campingplatz San Francesco near Desenzano, featuring its own beach and an extensive range of water sports activities.

A highlight for paddlers are the SUP tours from Campingplatz Fornella to Isola del Garda, or to the island of San Biagio from the Gulf of Manerba. Wind and water sports enthusiasts are drawn to the northern part of the lake, where sailors, surfers, and kiters harness the powerful thermal winds Pelér and Ora for exhilarating experiences on the water. The southern shore also offers plenty of options, including sailing trips departing from Bardolino, Garda, Peschiera del Garda, Sirmione, Desenzano, and Salò. Water sports centers such as Surf Point La Rocca at Campingplatz La Rocca in Bardolino, and Gardawake on the beach of Campingplatz Du Parc offer courses, rental equipment, and varied programs for beginners and advanced athletes alike. For a more leisurely experience, the lake can be discovered on a boat tour, available as a family-friendly hop-on-hop-off option as well.

Fascinating Underwater Worlds

Lake Garda has much to offer not only above but also below the water's surface. Snorkeling and diving reveal mysterious grottos, wrecks, and colorful schools of fish. The bays near Salò, Manerba del Garda, and the Sirmione peninsula are especially popular, true hotspots for divers. An ideal base for underwater adventures is Campingplatz Baia Verde in Manerba. The internationally recognized diving school located there offers courses for every skill level as well as exciting excursions. History comes alive in the harbor of Lazise, where the remains of ancient galleys and warships rest on the lakebed. Guests of Campingplatz Park delle Rose benefit from the proximity to these spectacular sites and the offerings of local dive schools that provide equipment and guided tours.

Water Parks for the Whole Family

In addition to natural experiences, Lake Garda also scores points with modern water parks located directly on the campgrounds. The Lido Family Camping & Village in Pacengo di Lazise delights guests with four pools, including a large swimming pool for active swimmers, a shallow lagoon for children, slides, and an adventure pool for all ages. The Camping Spiaggia d'Oro in Lazise also delivers pure aquatic fun with three pools. A children's area featuring a lagoon, slides, and water play ensures safe entertainment, while the large pool with long water slides and a mushroom fountain invites guests of all ages to splash around. Sports-minded guests can join water aerobics sessions and tournaments. Another highlight is the water park at Camping & Village IdeaLazise, whose multi-lane slide is not only thrilling but also offers a remarkable view: the panorama over the lake is spectacular. Those in search of tranquility will find their spot at the infinity pool of Campingplatz Bergamini , where the water appears to merge seamlessly with the lake beyond.
