Florence, the history-rich capital of Tuscany, has gained a new accommodation option: The a&o Firenze Campo di Marte has opened its doors, setting new standards for budget travelers. The modernized building on Via Manelli offers 119 rooms and 466 beds, a light-filled lobby with a glass facade spanning two floors, and a cozy breakfast terrace.
Cleaning robots ensure cleanliness
CEO Oliver Winter is pleased about the expansion and emphasizes that Florence is a city of many facets. Following an extensive renovation, a&o has now opened its doors to offer guests an attractive accommodation option. Florence is a year-round destination with a diverse range of attractions that travelers can now experience even more fully. The former 1960s office building has been comprehensively renovated. Particularly noteworthy are the AI-generated wall panels in the rooms, which not only create a unique aesthetic but also serve as a protective layer. The hostel also relies on sustainable technologies. Photovoltaic and solar thermal systems on the roof generate eco-friendly electricity and hot water, while air-to-water climate systems ensure efficient temperature control throughout the building. Cleaning processes have also been designed with innovation in mind: industrial cleaning robots keep the lobby and hallways spotless. Guests also have the option of using digital keys via the a&o app.

Directly adjacent to the Campo di Marte train station
Another advantage of the new hostel is its location. Situated directly at the Campo di Marte train station, the city centeris just 15 minutes away. Landmarks such as the Piazza del Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio, and the Uffizi are easily reachable. Sports fans will appreciate the proximity to the Asics Firenze Marathon stadium, just a ten-minute walk away. The central location makes the a&o Firenze Campo di Marte an ideal base for sightseeing and cultural trips. The expansion of a&o is being driven forward with the support of the StepStone Group and Proprium Capital Partners. More than 500 million euros will be invested over the coming years. In addition to new locations in European metropolises, sustainability remains a central priority. CO2e emissions per overnight stay are to be reduced to below three kilograms. This underscores the company's commitment to offering eco-friendly and modern accommodations.

Florence enthusiasts have reason to celebrate: the new a&o hostel offers affordable, contemporary accommodation in the heart of the Renaissance city.
