When the first warm rays of sunshine meet the Adria coast, Jesolo comes alive again, and not just for sun worshippers. This beloved coastal town reveals its many faces in spring: from kites soaring overhead and athletic achievements to the finest cuisine, the coming weeks have something to offer for every taste. Located roughly 25 miles northeast of Venedig is Jesolo right on the Adriatic coast, nestled between lagoon, river estuaries, and fine sandy beaches. This vibrant coastal town has been a popular vacation destination in the Veneto region for decades.
While many visitors know Jesolo primarily as a summer beach paradise, there is much more to discover beyond the shoreline. The city, with its nearly 10-mile-long sandy coast offers ideal conditions for relaxed exploration and active short breaks, especially in spring. Visitors can look forward to a diverse events program that appeals equally to sports enthusiasts, culture lovers, and gourmets.

A Colorful Spectacle: The Beach & Kite Festival
The season kicks off with the Jesolo Beach & Kite Festival from April 4 to 6, a feast for the senses and the largest event of its kind in all of Italy. Around 200 kite builders from around the world showcase their artistic and sometimes record-breaking creations on the beach. Among the participants is the team of New Zealand kite pioneer Peter Lynn, as well as Europe's top synchronized kite flyers. Workshops, acrobatic shows, and an atmospheric night flight with light effects make the festival an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
A Spring Tradition Full of Joie de Vivre
On April 12 and 13, the historic center of Jesolo comes alive with culinary and cultural highlights. The Jesolo Spring Festival invites visitors to experience the northern Italian way of life up close, with regional specialties, wine tastings, live music, and family-friendly activities.
All About Sports: Ironman & Moonlight Run
For those who prefer a more athletic approach to spring, May delivers in full. On May 4, the Ironman 70.3 Jesolo takes place, a triathlon of superlatives where top athletes compete across 1.9 km of swimming, 90 km of cycling, and 21.1 km of running. Even though all starting spots have long since been taken, watching from the sidelines is well worth it: the atmosphere along the course is electrifying.

Recreational athletes can get in on the action at the Jesolo Moonlight Half Marathon on May 24. The evening race along the illuminated Adriatic promises not only a breathtaking backdrop but also personal best times on flat terrain. For those seeking variety , inline skates are another option: the newly launched Moonlight Inline Skating Half Marathon extends the event highlight to wheels for the very first time.
Culinary Delights at the Gourmet Festival
Amid the sporting challenges, there is also time for indulgent breaks: the Gourmet Festival invites visitors on a culinary journey of discovery across two weekends, from May 9 to 11 and May 16 to 18. Acclaimed chefs such as Alessandro Breda, Stefania Di Pasquo, and celebrated food influencer Terry Giacomello treat guests to innovative cuisine and refined reinterpretations of Italian classics. The participating restaurants range from elegant venues right on the waterfront to charming hidden gems in the hinterland.
A Spring for All the Senses in Jesolo
"We are thrilled to present Jesolo in spring in all its diversity, colorful, varied, innovative, indulgent, and above all welcoming to every type of guest," says Luigi Pasqualinotto of the Jesolo Venice tourism association. Numerous hotels and restaurants have already opened their doors, inviting visitors to discover the vibrant side of this Adriatic gem, all without the hustle and bustle of summer.
