Chosen by lovers of Italy
Readers from around the world choose the best hosts in Italy in 16 languages. A jury then assesses the finalists. Taking part and voting are free.
The idea
With the award we honour hosts in Italy who delight guests from around the world.
Vivere in Italien is published in 16 languages. Our readers nominate and vote, then a jury assesses the finalists.
Taking part and voting are free, and nobody can buy a win.
Three categories
To start with, the award is presented in three categories.

Hotel of the Year
Hotels of every size, from city hotels to seaside resorts.

Agriturismo of the Year
Agriturismi and country estates with accommodation.
3
Holiday Home of the Year
Holiday homes, villas and holiday flats.
Timeline

Nomination
Readers nominate their favourite hosts, businesses register for free.
1 February to 31 March 2027
Reader vote
Readers vote. One vote per category, confirmed by email.
April 2027
Jury
The jury assesses the ten best-placed entries in each category.
May 2027
Winners
We announce the winners and all finalists.
How the decision is made
- Two stages: first the readers vote, then the jury assesses.
- The reader vote and the jury each count for half.
- The jury consists of the editorial team and three external members. It chooses from the ten best-placed entries in each category.
- Places 1 to 3 in each category receive the title “Winner”. All ten finalists receive “Recommended by Vivere in Italien 2027”.
- Nomination, taking part and voting are free. Nobody can buy a nomination or a win.
What businesses gain
- Visibility
- We present finalists and winners to our readers on Vivere in Italien, in all 16 languages of the magazine.
- Seal
- Winners and finalists can buy a licence for the seal if they wish, for example for their website and social media. The licence has no influence on the result.
- Portrait
- On request we present winners in a detailed portrait. Paid portraits are labelled as advertising.
- Free of charge
- Registering, nominating, taking part and voting cost nothing.

Questions from businesses
What does it cost to take part?
Nothing. Registering, nominating, taking part and voting are free.
Can I enter my own business?
Yes. Use the “Register your business” form to enter your business yourself. The editorial team checks every entry, and we will keep you informed of the next steps by email.
Can a win be bought?
No. The results are decided solely by the reader vote and the jury, following the published methodology. Booking a seal, an advertisement or a portrait with us gives no advantage.
Who can take part?
Businesses in Italy that offer accommodation, in the categories Hotel, Agriturismo and Holiday Home.
What happens to our details?
We use them for the award only. On a nominee’s page we show the name of the business, its location and photos. Details are in the terms of participation and in the privacy policy.
How do I withdraw my business?
A short email to redaktion@vivereinitalien.de is enough. We will then remove the business from the award.
Do we need to prepare anything?
No. If you like, you can invite your guests to vote from 1 February 2027.
